I am also thinking of asking the DM for a shadow sprite.  Maybe modifying the shadow dragon template for something else?  This would still be a really weak failiar but have that cool touch ability to read emotions and alignments.  Maybe the arrows cause frightened instead of poisoned condition?3. The gazer would be difficult thematically but it would offer those at-will spells.  I've never play tested this as either a player or DM.  Is this thing OP as a familiar, it seems like it would be?4. I have this Chwinga that is already following me around everywhere.  He doesn't really do anything other than follow me and I have not figured out how to communicate with him.  Is it possible for a Chwinga to be a familiar?  I purposely have avoided looking at the stats  for this thing to avoid any spoilers.</blockquote>
