It has the right blend of flexibility, simplicity, and customizability for me. I also like Hero - it was my game if choice for a few years, and I'd play it again. I prefer M&M now though. GURPS worked for us for semi-gritty "super-soldiers" - where most characters were like Batman or Captain America or the like.
