The farmers are monks? Wow. Don't criticize the freshness of the produce or you might get a Stunning Fist to the face! :) By the way, this is a great thread. I've already stolen all the ideas here. ------------------------- Just so it's not a total highjack... One of the most fun -- diplomatic -- adventures I ever sent my players on started when a man knocked on their door and told them he was from a brothel. He asked them to retrieve a token of affection for him that he had foolishly given to a nobleman's wife. The group had to avoid the husband and covertly get the item back (a gilded pair of opera glasses) before the husband could find out about the affair... Another one -- again on the slightly diplomatic side. A family is looking for their daughter. She disappeared after a fancy party, and was seen being assisted from the building by a pair of strapping young men. She was lolling between them as if she had consumed a few too many drinks. The two young men are actually Aranea who have kidnapped the daughter for ransom. After letting them search for a bit -- investigation style -- have the family receive the ransom note. This one quickly turns from diplomatically trying to locate a lost girl into a combat mission once the nature of the threat becomes known. (Besides, after meeting Aranea, the whole party was far more paranoid in the future about other people... heh)
