I've never wavered on my stance that 5.5e won't have the longevity of 5.0. I think it has somewhere between four and seven years in the tank. Three just sounds too short even for my highly critical standpoint. Eight or more, anyone but the ride-or-die ultra-fans I don't think would expect. That puts a pretty clean limit. If it really does hit seven years, that might work in WotC's favor, aiming for a 60th anniversary edition with a 2-3 year playtest period.</blockquote>
