So ive been playing Thrawns Revenge mode for Star Wars Empire At War. Recent 3.5 has overhauled the game. They added minor imperial factions to the game. They start with 1 or two planets vs tge 5 or 6+ for the small factions. Larger factions eg Empirevor New Republic are very easy. Won a game with a high efficiency rating as one. Lots of micro i started with Marlstrom group. Maelstrom started with 1 rich planet Galactic North. New game Sector 5 Group. Starts with 1 planet deep core in the middle. Very poor planet but they have a Communications Battlecruiser as the flagship. Still to weak to punch through a moderately fortified system. No other capital ships or heavy cruisers just some light frigate. Completely blocked in spawned beside Coruscant the Imperial capital. Managed to jump over an adjacent planet and nab Abregaddo Rae. It was weakly defended. Decided to push west from there and go into exile in the unknown regions. Its poor and undeveloped but theres a couple of mining planets i can grab. Plan is to transfer capital out there and use those resources to mop up the galactic core. Very slowly advancing. Broke. Managed to retrieve 10 old Republic dreadnoughts from the Katana Fleet. Older design two of them roughly equal a heavy cruiser, 4 or 5 a Star Destroyer. Havent built an capitals yet but are gradually biling up my frigate and carriers. Use my heavy capital to tank. Up to 6 planets now and incomes roughly on par with a starting weaker faction. Can probably push on Fondor. It has lianna Corporation to produce cheap light cruisers, IPV AA frigates and Interdictor Cruisers. Also has a capital shipyard. Then I can push on Corellia and gut the Imperial core and grab Kuat for the Kuat Drive Yards and Super Star Destroyer construction.
