Okay, lets see what could be done... Mmmh... :\ Llolth is a female deity who only supports priestesses. Drow society is matriarchal, and ruled by cruel priestesses through fear. It's more than likely that all drow males bow to the priestesses' authority but in fear and anger, as befits a CE society. So IMO, drow males would certainly welcome an opportunity to throw off the tyranny and get the power for themselves. However, they certainly fear the evil goddess would send her avatar or what not to assist the priestesses beat up a rebellion. Hence, my idea is that drow males would attempt a rebellion and discard Llolth rule, only if they knew with certainty that Llolth couldn't intervene against them. Maybe a most powerful artifact could prevent outsiders, including deities, to enter the prime material plane in a wide radius around the artifact. Or maybe there would be a war among deities in the outer planes, where Llolth must concentrate all of her attention, preventing her to intervene on the material plane. Or maybe some powerful deity has got more power on the material plane (in the vicinity of the drow realm), and now would intervene if another deity entered this region of the world, so Llolth cannot come to the drow realm in person anymore. Note this could be another evil deity trying to convert the drows, that would confront Llolth in person if she appeared on the material plane during a rebellion against the priestesses' matriarchy. Or still another reason, the possibilities are numerous. In any case, my idea is that drow males would reject Llolth dictatorship given the opportunity.
