Back in high school, when I didn't weigh enough to qualify as a 95# weakling, I could bench-press 145, but could move the leg-press pin to the bottom of the stack, and do twenty reps with one leg, no trouble (trust me, that aint normal). I've never owned a car in my life, and walked four miles/hour (which is a movement rate of 40, in D&D terms). In 1984, I walked what I thought was 22 miles (the odometer said 16.8 when I checked it, later) in 5 hours, 10 minutes, and thirty-some seconds (which would have been GREAT time for 22 miles, but a bit slow for 17). I've always gone for the biggest packs I could get, for gear-carrying capacity, and it never slowed me down. In hugh school, I carried 40# of books, and probably about as much in college. A lot more, when hiking/camping. Not sure what to make of all that, in D&D terms. I don't see myself with above-average STR (for an Adventurer), but need about a 16 to carry all the gear, since it doesn't slow me down... <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f61b.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":p" title="Stick out tongue :p" data-smilie="7"data-shortname=":p" /> I think I just have a special, Non-Barbarian 40' movement rate, and higher-than-normal carrying capacity, without the great STR.
I would be a Generalist Ranger/Rogue, and Gestalted, if at all possible. I'd be an Elf, if I could pick, but I was born in a world with only one choice... Stats? Too debatable! What's average? A person of today, or a Medieval farm-hand? What's an Adventurer? Anyone who goes on one (will he or nil he), or a Green Beret, Navy Seal, SAS Team member? I'd say INT 14 (average, for an Adventurer) is giving me the benefit of the doubt, but by the Standard Deviation table (up-thread a ways), I could claim an 18! (WOO!) :p CON's tough to figure. I've lived through a lot of grief, and I'm still sittin' here pushin' air past my lips, so I'd call myself pretty tough to kill. I'm also pretty beat up, because of it. I don't get sick, outside of the physical problems I already have, but they're plenty! So is that high or low CON? I'm gonna go with 13; a bit low, for an Adventurer, but not bad. STR (and DEX) are wonky. I'd have to break them in two!
