I can't say I've followed his column regularly, but he's a great guy. I first became familiar with his work back when I was trying to wrap my brain around Chaosium's Nephilim. I'd just read Major Arcana by Kenneth Hite and I remember finding it one of the most intriguing books for the game. My only disappointment was the section on the most mysterious beings in the setting: the Selenim. A very brief, very vague few paragraphs were given followed by a statement that an entire book would be released detailing the Selenim in full. Why was this a problem? Because that book was never written (at least, never in English). Nephilim was no longer being supported and the Selenim were just this big void in the overall scheme of things. So, I decided I'd email Mr. Hite and ask him if there was anything he could tell me about these mysterious dark beings. Not only did he reply, but he sent me several pages of information on the Selenim and let me know that if I had any further questions that he would be happy to help. While that might seem like a small thing to some, it certainly wasn't to me. It was the first time I'd communicated with someone on the creative end of the RPG world and I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. It was when I finally realized that one of the things that makes gaming so different from any other hobby is the close relationship between those who create and those who play. Soooo...I'm obviously quite happy to hear Ken Hite hasn't been kidnapped by any secret societies or driven mad by the Old Ones. We need more like him!
