MarK: Geanavue is one of the best city supplements ever made, that is without question. The best thing "Edminster" has ever written (aside from perhaps the original 1e FR gray box set). Production values are high. The doublesided map and rumorquest packs are great! It's jam-packed full of information and tons of NPC stats. I almost bought it... you don't know how close I came. I still feel like going back to the store now and buying it (and a bunch of other stuff I can't afford, LOL). But I think I will wait for Freeport and then make my decision. There are a lot of lame city supplements out there (remember those terrible City Books like Deadly Nightside?). Here are my favorites in no particular order: RUINS OF ZHENTIL KEEP (TSR, 1995, 2e deluxe box set, great evil city of FR shown in all its pre- and post-apocalyptic glory, so you can RP in either version, which is great if you want to ignore Cyric and the Time of Troubles. The most thoughtful thing TSR ever did!) Gary Gygax Presents: TOWN OF BALDEMAR (New Infinities, 1987, medieval river town generic enough for any game, with hundreds of buildings and NPCs described, plus unique system to run in-game politics for PCs and NPCs---find it on Ebay if you can!) FREIBERG (AEG, 2000?, 7th Sea box set, but easy to use for D&D or the upcoming 7th Sea d20, complete German city, includes a fun to read bonus: a Walking Guide of the City that players can have their PCs buy and read, and its full of typical merchant hype and errors to have fun with. The DMs city guide dishes out the real truth about all these places! Hehehe!) Fritz Lieber's LANKHMAR: CITY OF ADVENTURE (TSR, 1985?, 1e SC, this is the biggest, baddest city ever, rife with scum and villainy!) Kenzer's GEANAVUE easily fits in with these classics, though it's not as "edgy" as any of the above, which is perfect for some groups but was the main reason I didn't snatch it up and fork over my $25 right away. I wanted to, but knew it would require a bit of work to adapt for my "edgy" campaign. Damn, it is nice, though! **must resist urge to buy, hand reaching for wallet... NOOO!** :D
