I finally broke down and bought Geanavue today, LOL. I'll probably buy Freeport, too, along with Lady Dragon (whose opinion above helped to clinch me to just give in and go buy it, LOL). KENZER: Everyone I've shown the cover to (game shop employee, owner, co-DM) all say there is something indefinably *wrong* with the cover art, either the color scheme or just hate the fat giant (and no one can tell what it's supposed to be!). I made sure not to give my opinion on it first so as not to taint their reaction, just asked for their opinion "What do you think of ths cover art?" Interior art was liked by all, however, and everyone thought the map and rumor cards were great. The undercity map was a definite bonus, unexpected but enjoyed by all. Everyone thought this product was super-detailed and extremely well done, cover gripes aside. My co-DM in particular thought it was amazing how Ed Greenwood didn't populate the city with a bajillion super-high level NPCs like in FR... Less tweaking for me there, fortunately! Nice to know the PCs can actually affect the course of events in the city without being instantly squashed by Elminster, Manshoon, Fzoul, Szass Tam, Pergeiron, the Simbul, the Harpers, or any one of hundreds of ridiculously overpowered, over magicked 30th+ level NPCs! Anyway, I'm off to sit down with my well-worn copies of Lankhmar, Baldemar, Ruins of Zhentil Keep, etc., and begin the task of tweaking Geanavue where needed to suit my "edgier" campaign style. What specifics about the City of the Bat on Geanavue's northern border can you give me? Will this be detailed like Geanavue in a future sourcebook?
