Upcoming genre shows: Fearless (WB - Tuesdays at 9:00 ET): 23-year-old agent Gaia (Rachael Leigh Cook) was born with a genetic defect - she lacks fear. Whether this is a plus or minus for her teammates at the FBI's Special Investigative Unit remains to be seen. Comment: the WB's clone of Alias and it doesn't sound interesting. Jake 2.0 (UPN - Wednesdays at 9:00 ET): An accident changes computer whiz Jake Foley into a secret agent for the National Security Agency (NSA) by injecting nanites (tiny robots) into his body. It improves his strength, hearing, vision and reflexes, as well as giving him the ability to link with computers using only his mind. Comments: We can only hope that another super-powered hero has a place on the tube. Joan of Arcadia (CBS - Fridays at 8:00 ET): Teen-aged Joan has begun to have conversations with God (in the guise of different person each episode), a fact she is keeping a secret from her family and the rest of the townfolk of Arcadia. Comments: In the wake of ended Touched By An Angel, CBS attempts to renovate it for younger audiences. We don't think it will fly. Tarzan & Jane (WB - Sundays at 9:00 ET): The Tarzan tale re-tooled as an urban adventure. Comments: The classics have stayed around for a reason, but it has to be freshly depicted this time around to succeed. Tru Calling (FOX - Thursdays at 8:00 ET): Medical intern Tru Davies (Eliza Dushku) relives the previous day to turn wrong outcomes right. Comments: Dushku (Faith-Buffy) will make this watchable and the "Groundhog Day" gimmick might work. Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital (ABC - Thursdays at 9:00 ET): A hospital with a quirky staff and supernatural goings-on. Comments: If the staff is interesting enough, maybe (but then again, two similar series have recently failed.) Still Life (FOX - Time slot TBA): Dead rookie cop Jake Morgan returns to narrate the goings-on in his family. Comments: Seems more like a soap than a genre series. Wonderfalls (FOX - Mondays at 8:00 ET): Jaye Tyler has conversations with cartoon animals, animal figurines, eetc., which lead her to better others around her as well as herself. Comments: The film Amelie converted to America's small screen. If the stories take unusual twists and turns, this one could last.
