Whats that designation for wizards that's like specialization, but different?

I was reading it today, and now i can't find it. Dnd 3.5. Do you know what i mean? It's similar to school specialization, but you don't have to give up another school.
And what book is it in?

Or did i just imagine it?

Unearthed Arcana. Give me a sec to dig it up and I'll get you the details.

Here we go. PG 57: Domain Wizard. Essentially you pick a wizard domain (from those described there) and gain one additional spell per spell level which must be the domain spell (each domain is a thematic collection of nine spells, one of each level).

I remember this. It's more powerful than an unspecialized wizard, but clearly not as powerful as a specialist. Demonstrates quite clearly that specialists are more powerful than generalist wizards.

I always wanted to play a domain wizard with a "rainbow domain":

1st: Color Spray
2nd: Rainbow Beam
3rd: Rainbow Blast
4th: Rainbow Pattern
5th: Prismatic Ray
6th: ???
7th: Prismatic Spray
8th: Prismatic Wall
9th: ???

I used to know the 6th and 9th level spells that would fit in there but I forget at the moment what they were.

Prismatic Aura and Prismatic Deluge from Complete Mage?

And ofc he'd have to be an Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil, awesome prestige class.

The obvious choice for 9th is prismatic sphere. Don't immediately see a good pick for 6th, but I'm just looking at the online SRD--I'm sure you could find something with a little digging in the Spell Compendium.
