What's the best use of Cyberware out now?

My greatest dissapointment with D20 modern was the lack of this important level of near-future FX, but I understand it's out there.

So I'd like to know where I should look. Not only would I be interested in maybe doing a cyber-punk game, but I have a particular use for it in my current fantasy game.

Artificial limbs and augmenting surgery shows up more often than one might think in fantasy literature and fairy tales and I want to represent in ways both awe-inspiring and horrifying.

For starters I have a potential NPC who specializes in surgically implanting magical silver into people. So that the PCs will start encountering individuals with silver tongues, hands, and skin. Very interested in the idea of a healer 'evil' overlord who will cause the PCs problems through his even handed distribution of technology.

Sort of along the lines of:

Paladin: "Well he did augment the bandit brotherhood, but if we get rid of him then all the good he does the local population will disapear..."

Rogue: "Right, and those silver cat feet that last ninja had were so... beautiful... must have for self... ...um, I'm sorry what were we discussing?"

A tech that is being reseached now that is rather interesting is pigment. They hope to be able to add a implant that will allow people to change their hair and skin color. This tech will also be used in cothing.

I would like to treat them like magical items, cept that I like the Shadowrun feel for making them intrinsic to the character.

With D20 Modern is it possible to throw in some sort of resources check bonus that only applies to cyberware?

That would spiff out the mechanic nicely.

Has noone used anything remotely comparable in a fantasy setting.

Yeah, I really liked the shadowrun setting. Was hoping, vaguely, for some sort of d20 modern conversion.

cityscape from battlefield press has cyberware rules in it. It has everything you need to know/want for a cyberish product for you to build your pc with one cyberleg and one cyber arm...
