What's the formula for medium saves?

For good saves it's Level/2+2, for bad it's level/3. However, there are many products out there with Medium saves, starting at +1 or +0 and capping at +9. What's the formula for these?

I've never seen such a product, can you give a progression from beginning to end?

It might be 2/5 level as that would be right in between 1/2 and 1/3

True, but I didn't know the progression and so never checked to see if 2/5 would go from 1 to 9. I wasn't sure if they would use the geometric mean or the linear mean.

Thanks, all. Other products that have these saves: EoM[R] and AU.

EDIT: The Swashbuckler from CW and the Scout from CV have thinly disguised medium saves.

Medium, or "average", saves are the mean of the Good and Poor saves. They really are "average".

There is no simple calculation for them ( ((L/2+2)+(L/3))/2 is not simple), but I believe there is an approximation that someone came up with.

To quote Andy Collins, when asked the same question by Johnathan Tweet:

"Err.... Formula?"

:)

Actually, even 1 +(2/5)* level, round to nearest integer isn't right, is it? the chart delays the middle "plus" until the next level. Instead of 1,2,2,3,3,3 like it should, it's 1,2,2,2,3,3 instead.
