What's up with Amazon?

Anyone know what's up with Amazon? Arcana Unearthed is still "Not Yet Published', as is the Scarred Land's Players Guide to Fighters and Barbarians, with no release date given. Several other products I've seen in local stores for more than a week also have this status. Is this just Amazon being weird, or are some gaming companies doing this as a business decision?

Well, all I can tell you is that two days ago I ordered all 3 of the 3.5E handbooks from amazon, and they just shipped today. *shrugs*

Could be a simple delay or maybe it really IS a business strategy on the game publisher's part... :P

Amazon.com sucks when it comes to updating stuff, not just RPG stuff. I still remember screaming at them for not letting me have access to Crown of Swords by Robert Jordan after it had been out for THREE weeks.

I've had no problems with them. Heck, their free shipping stuff usually arrives to me at least a week before the date they tell me to expect it. Most of the time it arrives the same day they tell me it's shipped.

But for new releases I perfer to go through real gaming stores, even the on line ones.

Yes, i'll be purchasing my D&D minis at my local game store. I'm happy to support local stores when I can, and not only that, I don't think I could wait for them to ship :) I WANT THEM NoWWW!!!

Wow... no sooner did I write that message than Lo and Behold, UPS arrives at my doorstep containing my order. It arrived less than 24 hours after my shipping confirmation, that has to be a record for me, and I've ordered from amazon.com over 100 times in the past. I'm impressed ;) And this was using the free shipping option

I ordered Arcana Unearthed and both of the Player's Guides (fighter and barbarians, wizards and bards, etc.) from Amazon on August 13 and that order is still "not yet shipped" and AU and PG to fighters, barbs still has "not yet released" in the description. I have another friend who is waiting for his AU Amazon order as well and he put in his order before I did, so I'm not sure what's going on with those books but a good number of people seem to be in the same situation.

I'm sure Amazon would ship them out if they had the books, so I'm guessing that they're still waiting for whatever is holding them up somewhere between Amazon and White Wolf. With all previous orders I've placed with Amazon, I've always gotten my books promptly but then the book descriptions had always had them in stock.

I'm just hoping that the estimated ship date of May-June *2004* isn't accurate though. :)

Edit: Fixed AE to AU. Oops!
