Greetings, A while ago I began to create the beginning of a Wheel of Time RPG campaign in my head and have finally had the time to sit down and type up some brief summaries, adventures, and ideas. I ran across some problems, however, that I would like to get input on. The first problem is that I am not sure the characters will enjoy some of my starting adventures. Most of which include running errands for people about the village of Watch Hill located in the Two Rivers district. Will this be fun? Enjoyable for the characters? They get items and exp after completeing the quests. Input on this specifically. My second problem is that I require 1-3 of the PCs to start in Watch Hill as young men/women (around the age of 16) as the class of their choice, yet live life in the beginning, before they have decided to head out and become adventurers and mighty warriors. Because of this, I have taken away some skills/feats that cannot be learned in the beginning of the game because it does not fit the character's progression so far - Example: A first level Armsman of Watch Hill will not be able to choose to use certain combat feats unless stated in his character history in a realistic way. No one of the Two Rivers is much of a soldier, so the PC could not have been trained in the use of a Great Sword or have the Power Attack feat in the very beginning of the game. Instead they would progress through storyline and gain the skills/feats they have chosen when creating their characters. Well, tell me what you think. I would like input as soon as possible. This method is not set in stone, but I would like to know what you all think.
