Message: <blockquote data-quote="Koloth" data-source="post: 9647634" data-attributes="member: 6706231">The risks of critters in melee has already be mentioned but there are a fair number of single target spells that would spell instant doom for a Beastmaster's animal companions.  Magic Missile being a classic.  "Every missile targeted at ferret #1."  Or early on, a Sleep spell could wipe out much of a beastmaster's menagerie.  "Good work wizard! They are sleeping.  Stomp on ferret 1.  Stomp on ferret 2.  Cut throat on big cat.  Pluck and fry that bird...."  Plus, much like Highlander, there should only be one Beastmaster.   No reason why a Beastmaster couldn't make an appearance as an NPC.</blockquote>
