Where did these critters first appear?

for our vermin query, we came up with quite a few characters. for the sake of completeness, i always like to know all the sources a creature has appeared in.

a number of them came from the Monstrous Compendium Annuals. i'm aware that most creatures which appeared in those volumes were taken from other sources. do you know where these appeared before the MCA's?

Bloodring
Wizard Lice
Vilirij
Pasari-Niml
Kalin
Wall-Walker
Stink Beetle
Dreamweaver

Just a note to let you know that I wish you all the luck with this. I do not have access to the release schedules of TSR from those times and so I cannot be of much service.

The kalin and wall-walker are from the Dark Sun supplement with the dray- City by the Silt Sea.

 

[Echohawk]

Bloodring, Wizard Lice, Vilirij and Pasari-Niml are all from the Al-Qadim product City of Delights (1993).

Dreamweavers first appeared in the Ravenloft accessory Nightmare Lands (1994).

And I'm not sure about the Heart Tick and Stink Beetle...

I'm certain the Dreamweaver initially appeared in an issue of Dragon, but I'm currently unable to find which one.

Hmmm, wizard lice would likely get the hazard write-up nowadays, instead of being a monster, no? (For the record, I find that the hazard thing has diminished the profile some of my favorite old ... er, hazards like green slime.)

agreed. i only rely on hazard when statting a creature up any other way wouldn't really work too well in 3E.
