Man I must be spoiled.... Hoog and I live in the same town. Our game store has been here forever. It was well established when I first moved here in 1987. The owner rarely has sales or discounts, but I always try to buy from him anyway. Why? There are 4 4'x8' tables in the back room. there are games there almost every night of the week. Various people run various things incuding but not limited to: Any freaky RPG youve evr heard of. Stalingrad. in 1/76th scale (ok, not the whole city, but 16'x8' of it) boardgames. fantasy baseball CCG's collectable miniatures games, Warhammer & 40K and much more than I can even remember. Most club members can run games there regardless of the hour. want to play friday night through sunday night? Its cool. Well, It's cool with Dave anyway. I'm too old and creaky for that stuff anymore. Every year we put on a Con. Our own freaking Con! not bad for a town of under 12,000. If I want something he doesn't have he'll get it for me in a week. If a new release is coming out he thinks I'll be interested in, he'll ask me, and if I want it he'll make sure a copy is waiting for me on release day. I'm always greeted as a friend when I come in the shop. And the same goes for most of our 100+ members. Yes, we have a few odiferous individuals, but I can only think of two. They really aren't around much though. I guess it's not possible for all FLGS to be this good, but that's just a crying shame. About the only time I run a game at my house is when it's a family game. Anyway, sorry about the rant, but I just have trouble beleiving there aren't more places like this out there. And I don't know how much longer it will last. Dave & Sue (owners) are getting on, and they're the ones who make the place what it is. Must be late, I'm getting all emotional and incoherent. Chris
