Different players are playing for different reasons; a player who doesn't care about optimization is probably not going to care that they're being shown up in combat by the team min-maxer, who in turn may very well be grateful for the party face in handling the social encounters. It can be a source of friction, obviously. That has never really borne out in my own experiences however.</blockquote>
