Hey guys. I didn't want you to think I had been ignoring your comments. But late last week a little boy I know from church was involved in an accidental drowning. I had been helping to take care of him in the nursery because of the fact that my wife had been performing (so I took her place). The Sunday before he drowned he would only let me hang around him in the nursery, and I spent about 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours reciting poetry (Will Blake mostly) to the kid, playing horse with him, telling him tales about Knights and elephants and tigers and exploring Africa. We became great friends in a short time and I even made him a helmet. Told him to wear it and he'd be a knight himself one day. Then later that week he fell in a pool and drowned. He was buried last Sunday and for someone I hardly knew it hit me kinda hard. Not that I'm not used to people dying or getting killed, but with kids and with accidents, that's not something I much expect or want to see happen. He wasn't even two years old and he was such a bright, well behaved, curious, and cute little boy. I saved a guy from drowning one time. And nearly drowned myself once. I wish I could have been there. I know I could have gotten to him. The family was torn up of course. Who wouldn't be. That's a hard row to hoe. Anyway, because of that and with what is going on right now in Iran and the Koreas (which I have a sort of personal stake and interest in) it's been kinda hard for me to generate the energy or interest to address more mundane matters. I'll get back to this later, when I can relax a little, but tonight I gotta get some work done. Hope you guys are well and see ya later. Jack.
