Most gamers simply graft their modern views onto whatever they think fantasy is.  If you want a game that can really re-create the historical mindset, D&D wouldn't be the first game I would go to.  I imagine GURPS would do a better job.         D&D doesn't have rules to measure things like fame or income.  Unless you or someone else wrties up some rules for that, it's gonna stay that way.  Or are those things best done by a DM's judgement?</blockquote>
