Where in the books is the sharing XP costs rule?

I KNOW I read somewhere in the 3.5 core books that there are official rules to sharing the XP costs for magical item creation. What page are the rules on?

Nowhere that I'm aware of, though if there is I'd like to see them myself.

Yeha, it's in the 3.5 DMG I believe. I know I saw it because it was one of the things I liked. Unfortunately, I know there were rules regarding it, and I need to find them.

Ah, this would be super groovy...even better than that really...one of my campaigns has a pretty "by the books" core rules only DM, and my poor sorcerer is already thousands of XP behind the rest of the party from making items.

DMG 3.5, page 215, Magic Item Descriptions, Prerequisites: "If two or more characters cooperate to createe an item, they must agree among themselves who will be considered the creator for the purpose of determinations where the creator's level must be known. (It's generally sensible, although not required, for the highest level character involved to be considered the creator.) The character designated as the creator payes the XP required to make the item."

I can't find anything about sharing the XP cost to create an item.

Argh! I know I didn't imagine this, because I got all hyped when I first read it in the 3.5 core books! Just . . . Okay . . .
