Message: <blockquote data-quote="Spatzimaus" data-source="post: 426877" data-attributes="member: 3051">Someone else will have to give the exact support, but I think it's been clarified a few times that encumbered speed is 2/3 base speed, rounded up to the nearest 5' (one of the few places you round up); ditto for dropping a size category.  So, in this case, the horse would drop from 60' to 40'.  If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.If you don't want to do the math, just figure what the unencumbered speed is, find a level of Monk that goes that speed, then look at the "Small Monk Movement Rate" table in the PHB to see your new speed.</blockquote>
