[QUOTE="Spatzimaus, post: 428010, member: 3051"] The movement effects for being overloaded are the same as for wearing armor, although the closest I can come to proof is page 141 (Carrying Capacity), second column: "Like armor, your load gives you a maximum Dexterity bonus to AC, a check penalty (which works like an armor check penalty), speed, and run factor, as shown on Table 9-2. Carrying a light load does not encumber a character. If you are wearing armor, use the worse figure (from armor or from weight) for each category. Do not stack the penalties." On p.142 is a table of the penalties for medium/heavy load. Medium load is similar to a Breastplate (but slightly less Armor Check Penalty), Heavy load is similar to Banded/Full Plate. The important part is, the movements for medium/heavy load are identical to the movements for medium/heavy armor, for players moving 20' or 30'. So, since Barding appears to be the standard 2/3 speed (table, p.114) that player armors give, and the encumbrance movement penalties on p.142 seem to be identical to medium/heavy armor, I'd say that a horse carrying a medium load goes 40' and can run x4, while one carrying a heavy load goes 40' and can run x3.
