Where the heck is this +1 Damage coming from?

Crenshaw

First Post
Augh! Not sure if I am missing a rules reference somewhere or if I'm dealing with a bug. I rolled up a lvl 1 human cleric using WotC's new Character Builder (beta) and I'm getting a +1 damage in the MISC box of my Basic Melee Attack. Here are the details....

STATS
STR 16 (includes +2 human bump)
CON 10
DEX 10
INT 8
WIS 18
CHA 11

POWERS (shouldn't matter)
Priest's Shield
Lance of faith
Righteous Brand
-
Divine Fortune
Turn Undead
Healing Word
Raven Queen's Blessing
Healing Strike
-
Avenging Flame

FEATS
Shield Proficiency
Ritual Caster
Raven Queen's Blessing

EQUIPMENT
Chainmail
Light Shield
Mace

DEFENSES
AC: 17 = 10 + 6 (chaimnail) + 1 (shield)
FORT: 14 = 10 + 3 (STR) + 1 (human)
REF: 12 = 10 + 1 (shield) + 1 (human)
WILL: 17 = 10 + 4 (WIS) + 2 (cleric) + 1 (human)

Basic Melee Attack
+5 = 3 (STR) + 2 (proficiency)

Basic Melee Damage
1d8 + 3 (STR) + 1 (MISC - WHY???)

Any ideas? This is driving me nuts!

Thanks!

to bug test, give him a non versatile weapon and see how the program reacts.

or

take away his shield (and if its possible convey he is wielding the weapon two handed). if nothing changes you know were the +1 damage is coming from

Do you have the shield equipped? If not, it might be because of versatile weapon.

Aha! That's a rule I overlooked. I'll give it a try with and without the shield and/or a different weapon. I'll bet that's it. Goodie - I get to file a bug report!

Thanks all!
