Which 1 of the 3 revised core rulebooks should be bought?

Consider that there's the SRD available which is free, if you wanted to buy one of the revised rulebooks which one would you think would be the most important?

I would personally say the MM since every monster has been changed and not every monster is going to be in the SRD based on past examples (Illithids, Yuan-Ti, Gith races, Beholders).

But I'd like to hear other opinions on this given that the SRD is free.

I'll buy the PHB. With the SRD available, I'll put all the data into a nice database and use these to prepare my games. Maybe later I'll go and purchase the other books but PHB has priority since I don't have a PC around when actually playing the game and not preparing it.

Its the MM for me as well. I figure it will be the most useful book for my 3.0 game. I'll only get the other two if I ever start a 3.5 campaign.

MM, for the reasons you specified. The other two books are primarily rules, and I doubt you'd miss anything from them. Most likely, the magic items from the DMG will be left out of the SRD, but that's not a big deal in the long run.

I bet the magic items are still in, they were in the old srd, just a few greyhawk names removed as they were for spells.

For use in game I think the MM would be best because it has a better layout and is something you want with descriptions and art at the table.

The PH would be second because it has the combat rules, spells, skills, and character powers you want to reference at the table.

Of course if you only play then just the PH.

The DMG has revised campaign and DMing advice, probably the least needed to get.

Monster Manual.

While the new spells and modifications to the classes can be handled with printouts of the SRD, I wouldn't want to reprint a majority of the Monster Manual.
