And I like to believe that it is actually possible, and it has been done before in audio-format. Brennan Lee Mulligan's Worlds Beyond Number episodes average around 2h, but I think he has a good grip on pacing and scene control and could manage to keep it around 1h. But there's also The Re-Slayer's Take, which has all points mentioned so far, great inter-party RP, mainly comedy but a good measure of drama and all episodes are under 1h.As for the argument of "it would have happened already" even though I believe it's possible, entertainment history has shown that recycled and re-packaged ideas are a real thing, that can result in successful products.
