I'm going to be ordering a DVD set off Amazon in the near future, but the price it's at is just below what I need to qualify for free shipping.

So, to jack the price, I've decided to get my hands on one of the Complete books as well. I'm just not sure which.

I've read Complete Warrior, Divine, and Arcane. I tend to play spellslingers the most, although I tend towards Sorceror's over Wizards and Arcane over Divine. Still though, both CompArc and CompDiv were good reads and I wouldn't dislike owning either. Have yet to read CompAdv and CompWar, while a good book, isn't terribly exciting although maybe I'm missing something there that others can clue me in on.

So, I leave it to your opinions and poll results!

I don't know which book you should get. That's entirely too personal an opinion as to which you would expect to find the most useful.

I don't have any of the "Complete" books, so can't really comment on which is "best", but combat regularly plays an important part of the games I participate in, so I would expect "Warrior" to be most immediately useful. So that's what I voted for.

"Adventurer" was a close second choice, though.

I vote Comp War because it covers the most material all at once with Comp Arc and Comp Adv coming in second and third. Comp Divine is the least useful in my opinion given the huge Greyhawk-specific nature of it all.

Well, as have been stated before in this thread, it's all about personal opinion and what we like might not be your cup of tea.

However, I own CompWar, CompArc, and CompAdv, and if I was to purchase them again, I would start with CompArc, followed by CompAdv, and CompWar last. CompWar isn't bad, mind you, it's just that I have found both CompArc and CompWar more useful.

Cheers,

Complete Arcane seems the obvious choice for you. But if you already have the old Tome & Blood, you probably don't need even Complete Arcane much.

I vote for Complete Adventurer, because it has the best stuff for making oddball combos of classes that I have seen yet. :)

Second place for me would be CW.

Considering what you're looking for I'd go with Arcane. Seems a fairly straightforward choice if you enjoy playing spellcasters. It's hardly my favorite in the series, but you're not going to find what you're looking for in any of the others. If I was putting forth my own preference I'd probably recommend Adventurer.
