I'm personally not sure which way I want to go, 20 lvl class or prestige class, and wanted to know what people are using in their campaign worlds.  I think with Rokugan you have the oppurtunity to use them all since each clan would train their ninja differently (I also like the Ghost Faced Killer PrC from CA.  I think that would probebly be a Scorpion Prc).  I also think that a straight ninja class with a few ninja presitige classes like the <a href="http://l5r.alderac.com/rpg/feature_masters_of_shadow.html" target="_blank">Ikoma Spymasters </a> may be a better way to go.  With a land like Rokugan a lot of the debate about using base classes from the PHB to simulate what history tells us doesn't really work.  There are no Wizards or Clerics there.  They have Shugenja that fill both roles so you can't say that a cleric 4/wizard 2/ divine exorsist x best fits what history says about the Shugenja.  I'm not trying to be rude, Ninja is one of those words that make people crazy.  I've posted the same thread on the wizards board and have lots of I use "My own ninja" and I've read too many "in character" replies about how ninja don't exist or "my clan smashes you" in regards to ninja.</blockquote>
