I picked Eberron because it is my favourite setting, but I also do not really know enough about a lot of the others, some of which may be more liveable in some way. Spelljammer would probably be a good choice for a place to go if you were sure you were going to die and aimed to see some awesome stuff before doing it. Forgotten Realms would not be my first choice in a lot of ways, but it does have the advantage of being already connected to our world. Eberron though, as has been mentioned, is enough like our world that one could probably get by. And it is also a place where real world knowledge might have a chance of doing you some good, especially as an inventor or inspiration for inventors, given the proliferation of magical artisans. Artificer could probably even be a viable career choice for many people from the real world. It also has other benefits as well, like the fact that most people are low level, so not every innkeeper would seriously outclass you. Some places would probably even be liveable, despite the threat of war and all. Sharn or Wroat in Breland would probably be as good as it could get in Khorvaire, though if you could get in the good books of Aerenal it would probably be safer there (and with a potential path to immortality, though not quite the optimal one, or easy to obtain). Once it got out that you were "special", you would probably be in a situation where you were more valuable alive than dead to pretty much everyone, though the people who wanted you dead would be pretty damn powerful. So being drafted to fight on the front lines would be none too likely, but you would need a powerful patron to help watch your back. Unless you decided to and were able to keep a low profile, it would probably eventually come to having to roll the dice on the dragons of Argonessen. They are kind of all or nothing; either they decide you need to die and you probably die, or they decide you need to live and you almost certainly live. Korranberg might be a nice place to live too. In any case, given my experience as a citizen of a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary government and my education in politics and philosophy, I could hopefully find employmet to get by with at least in Wroat. I might be tempted by Sharn, but moreso only if I had some protection against falling dangers.
