I've just bought the Eberron adventure, Whispers of the Vampires blade, and I'm really looking forward to running it. Although some people have said that it is too much of a railroad, or to easy to bypass the adventure in stage one, I think it has a lot of promise. One excellent feature that I'd like to see in all adventures is that the start of an encounter typically has a little block that describes the ambient lighting, the ambient noise and what will typically happen (and timescale) if any trouble occurs. This is a far bigger help than the typical "read this text" ever used to be. Another good point is that it gives hints about likely important rules and where to find them (e.g. during Masquerade Ball "Influencing NPC attitudes, PH p72, Perform skill PH p79") The only downside is that several (many?) of the NPCs seem to have statblock problems. I'll list the ones I've found, if you have noticed any please add them to the list. ----------- Meena p12 seems to only have spent 39 skill points out of the 48 she should have. I think that her human bonus skill points are missed out. The Aundair Agents p12 have 5 skills maxed out, but they should have 4 (class) + 1 (Int) +1 human = 6 skills maxed out. Human skill points forgotten. Soldiers p20 have spent 8 skill points, they should have 10. Human skill points forgotten. Squad leader p20 has spent 8 skill points, should have 18 (forgot the human skill points and the extra level!) Archers p20 have 25 skill points (5 skills maxed out) and they should have 30 (human skill points missed again!) Airship crew p20 seem are correct (Just wanted to include a correct one! The're half elves so no missing skill point problem!) Captain Morgiss p21 is OK in the skill department but he should have four feats (2 standard, 2 fighter bonus feats). He only has three feats. Guards p23 have spent 16 skill points, they should have 15 Scimitar p25 has a touch AC of 12 but I think it should be 11 since his Dex is limited by his armour to +1. Also his climb and jump can't be as high as +8; maxed out is 8 ranks, +4 str bonus, -5 armour check penalty; should be total +7. Grilsha p31 may have bought riding ranks at a non cross-class rate - she has spent 30 skill points and should have 27. Any others? Any I've got wrong? Cheers!
