I finally got my hands on "Reign" by Greg Stolze yesterday - and while I have barely started to read it, I am already highly impressed.
This fantasy role-playing game (using the One Roll Engine, as seen in "Godlike" and "Wild Talents") has a nifty little premise: The player characters are the leaders of some organization or group which the rules call a "company". Such a company can be anything from a noble family, a small cult, or a mercenary company up to a full-fledged nation. Each can be described by five numerical values, "Might", "Sovereignty", "Treasure", and "Influence" which in combination with skills or with each other can resolve conflicts between companies.
Furthermore, player characters can go on adventures in the hope of influencing such rolls. For example, if they want to ruin a rival merchant house, they can attempt to secretly burn down a few of his ships and get bonus dice if they succeed - or loose dice if they fail.
Furthermore, it seems to be pretty easy to combine the company rules with another role-playing game, such as D&D...
So, has anyone else here bought it? What are your impressions? What have you done with it so far?
