Comes the closest to the books IMNSHO. </p><p></p><p>So far, Connery has been the best Bond. Lazenby's film would have been the best Bond film EVAR if Lazenby hadn't been in it. Moore was too campy (with the exception of <em>Live and Let Die</em>). Dalton was excellent in <em>Living Daylights</em> which hewed closer to the books once again, but his second film as Bond suxxors. Brosnan was good and provides a nice balance between Connery and Moore, but he was hampered by the big Hollywood crapitization of the franchise. </p><p></p><p>At one point, Tarantino was vying to do a version of <em>Thunderball</em> since the rights were still up for grabs, but then the Broccoli's nabbed the rights after all. I would have loved to have seen Quentin's take on Bond. Oh well... He has said recently that he'd like to tackle a remake of <em>Casino Royale</em>. Hmmm.</p></blockquote><p></p>
