Who or what was your first RPG character? ( Pen n paper of course ) and where are they today? Mine is Belvin Broadnose the Dwarven Fighter from the 1st edition AD&D. I think he came around at about 1987 or so and I still have a copy of him in my D&D packet. His first adventure was the village of Homlet and clearing out the moat house. Since that time he has been in various campaigns, where he fought against the Giants, Plunged into the underdark after the elusive Drow and ended up playing a role in the killing of Lloth. He's been in Monty Haul campaigns, he's been in Role Playing campaigns, he's gone to FR and foguht at Bloodstone Pass, freeing the barony, surviveing the assasian's run, killed the Witch King, travelled into the Abyss and defeated Baphomet and Orcus, then in the end killing Tiamat ( Whew..) His last adventure was Return to the Tomb of Horrors where he nearly met his end by the claws of a Winter Wight but survived to thwart Acerak yet again ;) He is currently level 23 right now, but he has been as high as 25. He has gone between the levels of 19 and 20 more times then I can count due to nefrious level drains, he's been crowned a king twice, has had been made a millionaire many times and been flat broke just as many. He's done and seen it all... Sadly, about 6 months ago I had to retire him. My DM had informed me that Belvin can no longer restore lost Constiuation points with Wishes or Magic Tomes and Potions of longevity had stopped working for me a while ago. Belvin being 978 years old and despite his level and all his treasure, my CON is 9. Belvin was my first character and I have been quoted numerous times saying, he will be last. I can't help but feel sorta sad, knowing that I can never really play Belvin again like I use to, and I'll convert him to 3E when the epic handbook comes out. While I was mulling over this, I began to wonder...... What ever happens to player's first PCs? Are they easily forgotten or are they like my case, where they somehow survive ultimate doom long enough to become treasured memories?
