ROFL!!! That is the most insightful post in the thread! Long term, I too fall into the camp that believes only Paizo can pull it off (resources, infrastructure, market penetration, reputation). But there is going to be a Dark Age before they can get past their non-compete. Short term, I think several people will try low-budget attempts to fill the gap (Wolfgang might have a shot at pulling this off...), one or two companies may try to hit the problem big in an attempt to "Paizo" and seize the niche before RealPaizo can get back into the mag-game (which is when kenobi65's prediction comes true), and there will, of course, be WotC's Digital Initiative... which will attract some if only because it will be the only BigGame in town. Personally, I don't believe the DI will ever enjoy the success or penetration that the Mags had. And once Paizo is back in the unbridled game, they'll climb right back on top... unless WotC purposely acts to torpedo Paizo's ability to publish 4E compatible material in some way. Nobody forgot about that forthcoming Sword of Damacles, right? :heh: Denis, aka "Maldin" Maldin's Greyhawk http://melkot.com
