[QUOTE="joethelawyer, post: 4688896, member: 55764"] We're all in a village, and we know a demon thing is coming in, long with a or raiding party of 100 or so orcs. Basically, a demonic version of the Predator from the movie of the same name. We know the fight is coming. The Dwarven cleric of the God of Battle does a big ceremony asking his god for aid ahead of time. The fight comes. The fear effect is so great that my wizard ends up fleeing the fight as soon as he sees the creature through its invisibility by use of true seing. The scene played out something like "Look! There it is! I'm outta here!" as he fled the scene. The barbarian in the group had to tackle him and hold him, so as to avoid having the orcs make attacks of opportunity on his low AC butt while he ran away, until he could be tied up until the fear effect went away, thus taking the barbarian out of the early fight. The dwarven cleric sees the demon, but loses sight of it in the distance. He makes his save v. fear so does't run away like a little girl along with my wizard. We lose track of the beast. The fear effect on the wizard ends. The dwarven cleric of the god of battle sees it again, and this time fails his save. He runs his butt off, screaming like a wuss. My now unfeared wizard casts a web on him to hold him, and since the dwarf couldnt run, he ends up cowering and winpering through the whole resolution of the fight. The wizard sees him again, and since he had a fly spell cast on himself after the last fear, fails his save, and pulls a superman to get the hell out of there. He ends up flying 1/3 of a mile away before the fear ends, missing the whole final fight. One fighter withstood the fear and engaged in combat. The barbarian reaches the combat to help, but of course fails his save. Due to his high movement rate, he flees farther than any of the characters yet. Well over 1/2 mile away at top speed. So the question that we debated last night after the fight was, who is the biggest loser/coward? 1. The wizard who failed twice? 2. The dwarven cleric of the god of war who spent the fight wimpering and crying in a little ball thru the final melee while stuck in a web spell? 3. The barbarian tough guy who ran the farther away from the whole combat than anyone else? The only thing our group could agree on was that it was the OTHER person who was the bigger loser/coward. :) The fighter lived, btw, and took out the demon, but endd up negative hp at the end of the fight.
