Hmm, I guess I've been pretty fortunate - I've got two LGSes I can go to, one near work, one near home. Both have their pros and cons. The one near work knows me better and has more room for stock than the one at home. The one near home has more stock and is expanding it's playing area. Also the one near home is a lot easier to communicate my gaming needs over the phone with than the one near work. For example, I was trying to find the World of Warcraft RPG core book - the guys at the LGS near home knew what it was right off the bat, told me it was out of stock, when they expected to get it back in stock and offered to order it for me right then and there. Calling the store near work, the guy on the phone kept getting confused between the Pen/Paper game and the MMORPG (*sigh*). However, I find approaching the owner/employees of the game closer to work a lot easier than that of the store at home - I really don't know why, probably because I was trying to run demos at the work LGS (but that's another story and a disaster at that). And if you're curious, I'm talking about Renaissance Games in Fallston, MD and Games and Comics and Stuff in Glen Burnie, MD. I recommend both of them highly. PS: Additionally, all this talk of LGSes makes me think that perhaps we should start a discussion threads on LGSes and our recommendations of where to shop locally.
