Message: <blockquote data-quote="aco175" data-source="post: 8533817" data-attributes="member: 27385">I know Waterdeep has been sieges several times over the years.  There are the Trollwars and an orc army or two.  One of them created the Mere of Dead Men and another destroyed Phandalin.  Since the city has been in the same place so long the walls were created long ago and likely need repairs like the ones described for Goldenfields.  Now, outside the walls are where the city is expanding.  The lands outside Waterdeep have many farms and slum areas from the 5e changeover and overpopulation in the city.  There seems to be no kingdom vs. kingdom fighting but monster populations rising or Dragonspear Castle opening a portal to Hell or such.</blockquote>
