Try not to let one lousy clerk completely turn you off. Maby he was having a crappy day, perhaps he just delt with a some kid trying to pocket MtG boosters, or some guy ranting at him for half an hour claiming that it was the LGS's responsability to keep Dungon and Dragon from being canceled (yes that happened to a guy I know who works at an LGS). Maby it was just the end of the day and he had to get to his mother in laws birthday by 6:30, hell maby Blackleaf died in his D&D game last night and he's still traumatized. Retail drones are allowed to have crappy days too, I'm sure there are days at your work where you arn't on your A-game. Like someone else said your avarage retail drone makes maby 8 bucks an hour. That's pretty poor returns for something that lets face it, can be a fairly difficult, high stress job with little reward. Clerks get very little respect, they're really just a short step up the employment food chain from fry cooks and yet they're still expected to stay open for as long as nessesary? I work in a bookstore. We close at 10 PM, last tuesday we had a half dozen people sitting in easychairs by our fireplace until 10:20. When my manager finally kicked them out one of the ladies got pissy and told him that if this was the kind of customer service she could expect she wasn't going to be coming back. They proceeded to leave a hip high stack of books and magazines, empty coffee cups, and two damaged magazines that someone had spilled coffee on. That's the sense of entitlement that I think people are refering to in the thread, and although the OP didn't even approach that level of inconsideration perhaps it is a regular problem at the LGS so they feel it is nessesary to take a firm hand. Oh, as for my orriginal point: Like I said, I'd give the store a second chance. You never know, their service could normally be really good. Try a different time of day or different day of the week, if the service still sucks, then you're probably more justified in writing them off completely.
