I see the movies I am interested in seeing, and don't let critics sway my view one way or the other (and am much happier for it ever since I have taken this approach). I am talking more about conversations like the one we are having now, where people are talking about movies they have already seen, or talking about what they think about the state of film right now. I think there you can have a very productive conversation with someone, even if they rely on criticisms you don't share. For instance, I am not particularly in love with many of the arguments around politics on this thread. But I also recognize those arguments are being made by some very smart posters, and I am not going to write off all of their opinions, or assume their points about poltics are being made in bad faith, simply because of that one disagreement.</p></blockquote><p></p>
