With all the SDAs at his her/command, I don't see a 40th level party coming CLOSE to killing a lesser god. An avatar of that god, yes, but not THE god. Also, while it's possible to kill demi and quasti-deities, I DON'T, and repeat this emphatically, DON'T see this act without having SERIOUS repercussions. Gods don't like it when mortals get uppity. Even the good ones would take notice and certainly try to do everything within their power to deal with that individual and/or groups of individuals. Those sponsored BY gods, might have a little more leeway but I still don't see them completely getting off the hook.
