Why no Star Wars version of Dungeon?

Does anyone know why there isn't a Star Wars version of Dungeon magazine? (Star Wars Gamer was more of a mix of Dragon and Dungeon but that's gone now)

Is it because Lucasarts licensing costs way to much or they don't want to see a magazine dedicated to the Star Wars RPG?

Or is it because Paizo can't get enough submissions to make a monthly magazine?

Is Star Wars itself not as popular as D&D when it comes to RPGs?

I just don't get it? Surely if there was one they would bombarded with sumbissions. Heck I written and run at least 8 SW modules I wrote myself!

Star Wars Gamer...it was a good magizine but it died, I imagine not enough people bought it to keep it going. But with the absence of actually game support via books, I doubt we'll be seeing a magazine.

I've got nothing to go on but speculation, but this sounds pretty reasonable. Star Wars is popular, and the SWRPG seems to do well, but I don't know that there's enough of a fanbase to keep a regular SWRPG magazine going.

Seriously?

I thought that there was nothing forthcoming in the line. I mean it hasn't been declared dead or anything, but does the SWRPG actually do well?

THere is nothing on the horizon and considering nothing came out to capitilize on Episode 3 I'm fairly certain the line is dead. Heck, I hear very little on the mini line.

I wish it would do better. I want to play but I'm having a hard time finding players in my area. I think its the whole I don't want it to be like D&D with killing everything you see and loot thier body. I want more in my Star Wars games.

I had a subscription to Star Wars Gamer. Yep I'm the one.

You're not the only one. Star Wars Gamer was the first gaming magazine I actually bothered to subscribe to (having bought Dragon at my FLGS). I know at one other person in my gaming club also subscribed. I'm rather proud that I have issues 3-10 (Issues 1 & 2 are the only d20 SWRPG products I don't have)

As for the cause of the demise: http://www.gamingreport.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=52 An interview with Johnny Wilson and Lisa Stevens of Paizo, where they explain, among other things, why Star Wars Gamer failed. In brief, it was way too specialized to get enough circulation to support a magazine like that, and they had a lot of trouble selling ad space since they were competing against Star Wars Insider and Dragon/Dungeon for ad dollars.

There was the brief attempt to fold Star Wars RPG related gaming material into Polyhedron, but vocal Poly haters in Dungeon ruined that one, so you can also thank the readers of Dungeon who wanted an end to Polyhedron for the lack of magazine support.

By the way, the Star Wars RPG isn't dead. WotC still pays for those web articles. Yes, it looks grim, but they have the license until 2012, and Gary Sarli (a.k.a. WizO the Hutt) posted a highly informative, insightful, and semi-insider look at why the RPG has been dormant recently: http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=6769372&postcount=723

Well, the miniature line was the best selling miniatures game during the first quarter this year. Unless the license expired or was pulled, I don't see sales being an issue with it.
