Message: <blockquote data-quote="Acid_crash" data-source="post: 1997870" data-attributes="member: 16278">There isn't a game system that I don't like...I like pretty much all of them, some more than others though.  What I don't like is the gamers attitude when it comes to systems that are different than their preferred game.  For me, it's the D&D gamer who plays nothing BUT D&D.  I don't get it.  I know that some people claim they don't have enough time to learn a new system, or that they don't have enough friends willing to learn a new system...and most of this is when they don't even try.  (This doesn't pertain to people who primarily play D&D but have played others on occasion...this is just for those people who play just one game, have always played just one game, and will not play any other).If I have the same 24 hours in a day as another person, and I can learn a new game system in 30 minutes of those 24 hours, then so can everybody else.  I hate it when people say they don't have the time.  Dumb answer.  Now, if those people said something like I just don't want to learn it because I like what I play now...that's a much better reason not to.  But, just because some people think they don't have the time, come on.  But...I am a person who can't just stick with one game system.  There's so many that offer so much, I don't see why people stick with just one.  I never will.  I like them all (Palladium to a point, though...and FATAL, well...tried it once, no thanks).This rant of mine is coming from what happened this past weekend last week.  A group of us got together to meet (we met in a yahoo group of locals where I live), talk and get to know each other, and to find out who would be willing to run what games.  I brought HERO, Gurps, d6 Fantasy, Fireborn...ya know, non d20 games.  No one else brought books.  They decided to play D&D because it's the only game half of the others have tried.  And they just didn't want to spend the time learning a different game.  I don't get it...d6 is hell easy to learn.  Any game is easy to learn, if most people would just open and broaden their minds and be more accepting of other, outside games than what they are always playing.  I mean, doesn't it get boring to play the same damn game week after week after week after week for twenty years?</blockquote>
