In a roundabout way, that is correct. Light warriors have a guaranteed point when using Holy Day, whereas Dark warriors have a possibility of scoring a two point move with Sneaky Tricks. It's all a balancing act. The offseting factor for each side is the pure/foul spirit thing. If you take away the ability of one to decide the match type and length, you wreck the balance. Renders foul spirit castrate and pure spirit isn't much to worry about then is it? * - trimmed out irrelevent portions I have to agree with Wicht on this one. If you want a specific type of match or length - put it in a stipulation amended to the challenge. This then allows the challenger to decide if they want to fight you or not and avoids nasty situations like what happened earlier. As several others have also stated - one of the reasons that certain players have requested that the judge generates the hands (in strat matches) is to remove the possibility of fishing. At this point there is no way to know with absolute certainty that someone is cheating so there has been a sort of community trust. Recently it was brought up publicly (on the old boards) that at least one person was fishing. It was discussed within a thread and nothing seemed to come of it. It was kind of left up to the individual players to decide if they wanted to chance it and fight that person. The judge-generated moves is the direct offspring of that thread. Personally, I like the idea even though it is a little more work for the judge to do. I don't think that they are necessary all the time. But if I ever have concerns about another player's honesty - this would be the only way I would face them. Just as a side note - the insult rounds have always allowed the winner to choose length and type of matches. It's just that there are sooo many more options now...
