Styr, Eric already reprimanded you but I feel the need to chime in here. You've only got 6 posts under your belt. You have a lot to learn about posting ettiqute around here. Be a bit more friendly and respectfull to other peoples opinions and POV 'round these parts. Its the "enworld way". 'sides, Grandma is always watching... Anywho. I dont see why you people are so up in arms about Wil Wheaton. The guy is great. Why is ok for Vin Deisel and Lexa Doig to be D&D Geeks but not him? Oh, i know... because while they're famous they dont LOOK like geeks, they just say they they are. But Wil, He's embraced his geekdom and he's famous. It seems to me as if people chafe when our geekness is put in the limelight without some really attractive figure at the helm. I know we're better then that guys. Wil's a good actor. He plays D&D, he's married with a wife who respects the things he does, and stepkids that want to get involved with HIS hobbies and become little gamers themselves, we know he's a writer cause he has 2 best selling books. He's living a dream that most of us have, and people are trashing him for no reason what so ever. I just dont get it... I'm not so worried about gaming becoming mainstream. Who wants it too? I dont want it to become mainstream, but I DO want it exposed to more people, lots more. Look at it this way. Lots of cute girls read Wils site because of Stand By Me, right? Lets just assume that a "few" of them get their intrested piqued into D&D because of his article. They pick up an issue of Dungeon, read the article, and decide to try D&D. BOOM! More female gamer chicks! Dont we all benefit?! I think you all need to just lighten up a tab and offer a tad bit of respect. Especially for someone who's taken crap their entire life for a role he played in one of the greatest tv shows of all time. Its not his fault the character got bad writing. I LIKED Wes. I related to him. And its a damn shame he got shat on by the dudes who took over ST after Gene got sick. So uh, I've ranted. Anyway. I'm looking forward to the article, and I'm sure its gonna be a good read. 'sides. Its just ONE Page. The stuff that normally went on the backpage was poly or advertising space.
