Stagecoach Schedule
Wells Fargo Stage makes eight round-trips a week between Promise City and Tombstone.

On Sunday through Thursday it leaves Promise City at approximately 9:00 AM and arrives at Tombstone at approximately 1:00 PM. It then leaves Tombstone at approximatley 2:00 PM and arrives back in Promise City at approximately 6:00 PM. (If the driver makes the horse team go faster he can shave a half-hour off of each run time).

On Fridays that make those same two runs, but also adds a Friday night run at approximately 6:30 PM and gets to Tombstone at approximately 10:00 PM. It spends the night in Tombstone. Saturday's three runs are the exact opposite as Fridays, leaving Tombstone at 9:00 AM, leaving Promise City at 2:00 PM and leaving Tombstone again at 6:30 PM.

The Wells Fargo Company also has Promise City as one of its stops on stages that run east and west between Tucson (and through Benson, Arizona rather than Tombstone) going all the way est to El Paso, Texas, with stop in Galeyville and several places in New Mexico in between. Around one a week an eastbound or westbound stage will come through. You would have to check with the Wells Fargo office for a more specific schedule.

Magic Items

A number of unique magic items have shown up in our game so I thought it best to list them in one place to save people from having to check all of the OOG threads to find the item descriptions. Note that these items and their descriptions are unique to this campaign.

Apache Medicine Totem
This item is usable by any high elf. Those of other races can only use it if they are either druids or clerics that worship nature deities.

This necklace provides the wearer with +3 protection to armor class and to saving throws. It also acts as a conduit for clerical spells and can serve as a holy symbol.

The necklace initially has fifteen stones of varying length that provide the following:

Two 1” stones (stones 1 & 15) act as a “Cure Minor Wounds” spell
Two 1.5” stones (stones 2 & 14) act as a “Cure Light Wounds” spell
Two 2” stones (stones 3 & 13) act as a “Cure Moderate Wounds” spell
Two 2.5” stones (stones 4 & 12) act as a “Cure Serious Wounds” spell
Two 3” stones (stones 5 & 11) act as a “Cure Critical Wounds” spell
Two 3.5” stones (stones 6 & 10) act as a “Healing Circle” spell
Two 4” stones (7 & 9) act as a “Heal” spell
One 5” stone (center stone) acts as a “Raise Dead” spell.

Each stone can only be used once although pendants could be replaced by an Apache Head Shaman (12th level or higher). Each stone activated by having the command word in the Apache language by the elf, druid or nature cleric. Any person may receive the healing. Other Native American tribes have similar Medicine Totems, the metal and stones used for each being those of the tribal lands.

The item was created for use by an Apache Head Shaman (12th Level) to specifically cure Apache Elves who follow the Native American gods (who are the ones granting the healing). The item can be used by other elves or non-elvan druids or clerics that worship nature deities but the casting time would take longer than it would for an Apache Head Shaman. It can also be used to cure non-elves that worhip other deities but the result could be to a lesser extent. An attempt to cure an enemy of the Apache people would not work at all.

Bustle of Shocking
A small oval pillow, ten inches wide, six inches high and two inches deep. It has a cloth belt running along the top of it with a small blue gem clasp holding the pillow to the belt. Worn either over another bustle or directly on the posterior. Once the gem is twisted to the side the magic item is turned on and will let off an electric jolt to anyone who touches the pillow. This will generally be only 1 hit point of damage, unless the person is foolish enough to let their hand linger on it, in which case it will continue to do 1 point of damage until a maximum of 20 points is inflicted. It has total of 100 charges and self-recharges at the rate of 1d6 charges per day.

Duster of Protection (+2)
A full-length man’s coat that can be worn with the front buttons open or shut that offers magical protection to the parts of the body that it covers. http://www.fullmooncustomcycles.com/leathers9.html

The item does not require any magical incantations or charges to use, it is always “on” and is especially resistant to getting dirty. It offers the wearer a +2 (10%) bonus against physical attacks that come in contact with the duster. Thus, a direct point-blank shot would probably penetrate but a grazing shot would deflect off of it with no harm to the duster. Wearing the collar up will protect the neck could hinder full range of motion for the head. It offers no magical protection to uncovered areas, those requiring magical boots, gloves and hats for the person to be fully protected.

Dagger of Fire +2
Improves attacks by 10% (+2) and also has the extra power that when held and the word "Incendie" (French for fire) is spoken a flame will ignite from tip of the blade.

Polymorph Item
A powerful magic item that will physically change an individual into a specific form upon an incantation being spoken. The individual and their clothing will “morph” into the new form. Note that the clothing items cannot be removed so accessories (hats, jewelry, glasses, canes, etc.) should be added after the transformation. The final word of the incantation can vary, being the color for the clothing or the word “none” or “nothing” in the language of the incantation if clothing is not sought as part of the change.

Thus far five of these items have appeared in the story as follows:

Eyeglasses (Mr. Austin)
Human male between sixty and seventy years of age, with long white beard, bushy sideburns, busy eyebrows and bald head. He has a pleasant smile on his face. He is dressed in a blue cotton shirt, tan wool pants, a wide belt and cowboy boots. He has a straw campaign-style hat on his head. A pair of wire-framed eyeglasses magnify his robins-egg blue eyes. He has a sheathed dagger on his belt but no other weapons. A rabbit-skin pouch on his belt and small book in his shirt pocket.

Hair Clip (Louise)
She is a “human” version of Sonoma. She resembles the wood elf but is six inches taller, fifteen pounds heavier, with rounded ears and lighter skin tone.

Hair Clip (Fancy Kate)
At present this item only changes the color and style of her hair, to a fancy European style with auburn highlights.

Gold Chain (Martin Allistar)
Nondescript dark haired human man, red cotton shirt with a white apron

Gold Chain (Cornelius Van Horne)
He stands around six-foot-three and is a good 300 pounds. He is wearing an off-white finely tailored three-piece suit the color of which matches the ivory of the piano keys. He has a high-collared white starched shirt and a white bow tie, both of which appear to be made of silk. Large shoes made of tan suede adorn his feet that exactly match his belt. The suit is open and gold chains can be seen dangling from three of the six vest pockets. A small wooden case, most likely for eyeglasses, sits in another vest pocket. He has a round face with a white goatee, mustache, bushy eyebrows and a full head of white hair parted to the right with a white silk hat above it. Jake guesses his age to be late sixties or early seventies. In his right hand is a wooden cane with a gold grip and gold stopper on the bottom.

Piccolo of Spells

The piccolo is highly crafted musical instrument that is impervious to most type of damage. It also has the ability to cast songs. Five specific songs are imprinted into it. It could be used by any spellcaster, however its full potential can only be realized when in the hands of a bard. However, to be able to use the magic one must be proficient with this type of instrument <<Perform Skill: Piccolo for non-bards and Perform Skill Piccolo or Flute for bards.>>

Bell of Interruption

When sounded it sends forth a sound that resonates for a full three minutes, during which any spellcaster within the immediate radius of the sound it is hindered from casting any spells.

Spoon of Purity.

An item created originally for Kings back in the middle ages, who feared that their food might be poisioned. By using the spoon to stir any liquid up to a gallon in volume it makes it drinkable, negating any poisons or diseases. The spoon is a handy item to have in the winderness, as you can't always find drinkable water. Sailors also value the item, as it enables seawater to transform into fresh drinkable water.
