Likewise, an NPC of mine was somewhat arrogant and dismissed the PC as non dangerous : I can't complain if he was slain during the surprise round after the PC devised a clever plan to attack him by surprise. </p><p>I think some measure of realism* is positive for the game. And realism requires things akin to save or die and things that are not fun at all. </p><p></p><p>*realism in a fantasy paradigm of course.</p></blockquote><p></p>
