They literally never used the words poor or disabled.I'm not going to quote anything. NaNoWriMo pretty much indicates that it's neutral in the AI/LLM usage. You want to use it, fine. You don't want to use it, also fine. They also not once use the term LLM, but the generic AI, that can be more then just LLM. But let's assume they meant LLM, which is easy to assume as they are a non-profit for writers.What they're saying isn't untrue. They talk about financial means, not being able to hire people for all phases of writing. I don't know if skimping on a human editor is a good idea, but some people just don't have that option. That doesn't mean you're poor, that just means you don't have money to hire someone to edit your novel. The same goes for marketing texts, etc. And that doesn't just go for people with less money, but also for people that just don't have enough money to do what they want. One of the reasons why I use AI/LLM is because I don't want to hire a writer to write hundreds of room descriptions, don't want to hire a voice actor to voice those hundreds of room descriptions, nor do I want to hire an illustrator to make illustrations of those hundreds of rooms. I could do that myself, but I don't find it that interesting work, it would take many years of free time, and I don't want to do that either. Time = money. I'm concentrating on making maps, special encounters, over arching story arc, etc. I would even go so far as to say that AI/LLM is doing it better then I could, and what I've read/heard/seen, better then some professionals...I'm not an expert on mental capacity, but what I've seen/experienced, there are many levels. The workshop next to where i live is for folks that can't work in a normal workshop, but can work in a workshop with special assistance. Some of their roommates in the facility a few streets over, cannot participate in those specific activities. Different people, different ranges of mental capacity, that is even true in what we consider the 'normal' range. So could people which society categorizes as 'disabled' use and benefit from writing with a LLM? Sure, just like anyone else. It doesn't matter what you think is the quality that is produced, it's about what the person doing the writing thinks. Will it 'help' everyone? Hell no! Just like a hammer helps in building a closet, some people shouldn't be building a closet. It's a tool, not everyone wants or can use all tools, and even if they can, are able to get good results from using tools.
