Combat would revolve around winning initiative, firing off a continuing effect, and then pummeling your enemy while they fail to fight back.Sure, fire is distracting, but so is getting hit with a sword; the latter is just as painful, and can be more immediately deadly. If a little pain distracts you so much that you can't even swing your weapon, you'll never survive past your first combat.If I'm in a fight for my life, I won't be distracted by much of anything.
